A police officer watching over London’s Notting Hill Carnival got a little more than he bargained for at the weekend when a pair of scantily clad women decided to treat him to an impromptu dance performance.
Dressed in colourful t-shirts teamed with hot pants, the cheeky double act twerked in front of the unsuspecting officer, jiggling their derrieres as they pinned him to the fence. The friends were clearly enjoying their moment in the spotlight, grinning and giggling with each other, and the Metropolitan Police officer was thankfully game enough to play along.
In the video footage he can be seen laughing with the fun-loving ladies, and even fanning himself and mopping his brow, as the crowd, who were also clearly loving the saucy show too, laughed and cheered the women on.
The moment was captured on camera by 19-year-old Danielle Crossley, who told the Mirror: “Even police officers need to have a little fun now and again. He looked a little but uncomfortable. But well done to him, he joined in with the spirit of the carnival and everybody enjoyed the moment.”
Another witness to the hilarious scene was 29-year-old Rodrigo Tenreiro, who said: “Everybody was having a great time and the girls spotted the policeman stood at the side. He looked a bit bored, so they just wanted to spread the carnival atmosphere. I’ve never seen a policeman get as flustered as that. But clearly he was having a great time. You might even notice a cheeky smile while the girls are twerking. I guess that’s what community policing is all about.”
The first involved a 15-year-old boy who was allegedly stabbed by a 14-year-old boy. The victim arrived at hospital in critical condition but was later declared stable. The 14-year-old was arrested on suspicion of GBH.
600 people were treated by medical staff over the weekend, and 400 arrests were made. These included 74 on drugs charges, 24 for possessing an offensive weapon, four for sexual offences and two for GBH.
The police found 60 knives during the event, and 11 officers were assaulted.
